One supposes it had to happen. After years of universal rapture over his literary achievements comes this question about Orhan Pamuk: "...this 'caught between East and West' business - how much more literary mileage does he plan to get out of it?"

What *I* want to know is why no one's asked this question of Chitra Banjerjee Divakaruna and Jhumpa Lahiri and gang. Why can't they just eat their jhaal muri made of cornflakes and get on with life?

I hope Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni stops writing. Jhumpa Lahiri is not as bad as CBD. Not that she is a great writer, but I feel she is not as unbearably mediocre as CBD.
It was fun reading the article.
